On Saturday, April 22, roughly 200 residents gathered at Merwin’s Wharf to participate in a guided bike ride as part of “Celebrate Trails Day” festivities, joining County Executive Chris Ronayne, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, and Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman.

In the second part of our Cuyahoga County Black History Month Series, our trip to the County Archives helped us learn about Sara Lucy Bagby Johnson, the last slave prosecuted under the Fugitive Slave Act.

The last part of our Black History Month Series will focus on Garrett Morgan. By taking a trip to the County Archives, we were able to take a deep dive into Morgan’s impact and contributions to Cuyahoga County and the entire country!
