Toxicology

The primary focus of Forensic Toxicology is composed of postmortem toxicology, behavioral toxicology, and urine drug testing.
Specimens, usually blood and urine, are analyzed for the presence of drugs and alcohol.
- In postmortem cases, the results of toxicology may help explain why and how an individual died.
- Behavioral toxicology is concerned with cases of driving while intoxicated or drug facilitated sexual assault.
- Urine drug testing is performed on persons who have been placed on probation by the courts.
