If you were scammed, understand that you are not alone. Scams are a huge industry, and scammers use many techniques to seem convincing. Taking quick action to report scams can help you limit the damage.

 

Did You Lose Money?

  • First try to stop the payment. Use our Stop Scam Payments tip sheet to find out how to stop recently made payments.
  • Contact your police department to see if you can file a report. If the scam occurred online, consider filing a report with the FBI.

Personal information is private information – like Social Security numbers, account numbers or passwords -- that can be used to access your account.
