Cuyahoga Green Energy was established in 2021 as a new energy utility focused on renewable energy and resilience. Through the development of local renewable energy projects and district microgrids, CGE will provide clean, reliable, locally produced energy to customers.
Solar Co-ops
CGE administers solar group buying co-ops for homeowners, businesses, and municipalities within Cuyahoga County.
Microgrid
A microgrid is an energy system that is entirely local and self-sufficient, creating power on-site for nearby facilities.
Grant Funded Solar Projects
CGE currently oversees the development of several federally funded renewable energy projects.
Other Projects
CGE has operated a landfill solar farm in Brooklyn since 2018 and Cuyahoga County has installed solar on four county properties.
