Auto Title Division
The Fiscal Office Auto Title Division processes titles for motor vehicles, including automobiles, motorcycles, ATV’s and limited off road vehicles, mobile homes, travel trailers, campers, motor homes, watercraft, and certain boat motors.

Types of Titles
The first title issued to the new owner of a vehicle.
Replace a lost, damaged, or stolen title.
Make a change to an existing title.
Also known as a “Memo” Title, this is used as proof of ownership by the titled owner solely to obtain vehicle registration.
When the vehicle is a total loss or when requested by an insurance company or the vehicle owner.
Rebuilt Salvage Title
When a vehicle was previously salvaged but has been repaired and inspected by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Court Ordered Title
You must live in Cuyahoga County to obtain Court Ordered Title from Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Please reference the laws regarding Court Ordered Titles:
- Motor Vehicle – Ohio Revised Code – Section 4505.10
- Watercraft – Ohio Revised Code – Section 1548.11
When you have been informed by the Cuyahoga County Auto Title Division that the evidence submitted for your motor vehicle/watercraft is not sufficient to meet the requirements of title issuance by the Cuyahoga County Auto Title Division, you will be requested to obtain a court order from Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court – Civil Division.
- Your petition must be completed prior to filing.
- There is a $250.00 filing deposit that is collected by the court when your petition is filed.

Manufactured Home Titles
All manufactured homes as well as mobile homes are assessed a $5.00 archive fee in addition to any title fees.

We accept cash, certified check, money order or credit card (Discover, Mastercard and Visa). We do not accept personal checks.
