Healthy Families Program Build Strong Communities Program

family smiling togetherThe Healthy Families Program Build Strong Communities Program was established to facilitate and promote positive connections, the fulfillment of basic needs, and establish and maintain positive relationships and mental health amongst various family dynamics while assisting with the reintegration back into the community. All services are free of charge, voluntary, and confidential provided by a collaboration between Oriana House, Inc. and other community agencies and organizations. Maintaining healthy connections becomes a more complicated challenge for families when a parent is incarcerated. This difficulty has been related to the adverse effects displayed in children during a parent’s incarceration. This program has been designed to assist with this. Components of the program includes parenting, courthouse, and financial literacy classes, family together events, communication projects, discussion groups, case management, additional visitation, and monthly field trips. These activities take place on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. All persons attending these events must be approved visitors, including the children. Clients are responsible for signing their families up to attend the events.
